VUUCP/2- VUUCP Replacement for VBBS 6.00+
Copyright 1993 Scott Call
-----------------------------------------
Welcome SysOp! Thank you for choosing my VUUCP replacement for
use on your BBS. This is an almost fully functional replacement for Roland
De Graaf's disfunctional VUUCP module. The only feature not yet implemented
is the gateing of USENet newgroups into other networks.
Installation in easy, just copy the VUUCP.EXE file from this .ZIP
into your main VBBS Directory. Then, Unzip the included VSPLIT10.ZIP file
into the same directory. Please note, I have nothing to do with the existance
of the VSPLIT program, and am including the complete original distribution
ZIP, unaltered, with no warranties. Set up an configure WAFFLE 1.65 files
per the WAFFLE instructions (Specific examples are available upon request),
and then configure network type 5 from VCONFIG. If you do not have a domain,
.UUCP MUST be in the node entry of VCONFIG.
Features of VUUCP/2:
ALL Email is imported correctly, and entirely
Messages and EMail are automagickally split into VBBS
size chunks by the 3rd party VSPLIT utility, included.
From: format as follows: From: Zapo@pil.UUCP (Zapo Zapper)
Speed improvement over RDG's VUUCP.
Things ot watch for:
your VBBS data dir must by '/vbbs/data/'
the USER and NEWS directories must be on the same volume as
the main VBBS directory.
E-Mail importation on large messages is a tad slow..
To set up an 'Organization: ' line on outgoing articles:
add a line to the data/net.5 file:
Organ=Public Image Limited VBBS (510) 831-3634
Hope that helps. Enjoy...

Registration:
Well, quite frankly, this program was a b*tch to write.
I had to decode the data types used by RDG (wouldn't want a copyright
violation thing to happen. Then it took quite a whilt to stablize the code.
I don't think it's too much to ask for a couple of bucks for time I spent
working on this program. At least you'll be getting your mail now.. :)
I'm asking $15 US for registration. This is not much, in my eyes, seeing as
how almost every VBBS SysOp has spent 50-100 dollars to register VBBS...
